Dear Samana,
My name is Laura McLuen, and I was an esthetician student at Spa Luna in the class May 2007-August 2007. I haven’t written in a long time, but I have been meaning to. Things have been great. I found a job September 2007 in the mountains of Colorado at Keystone Lodge and Spa. (close to Vail) It was great working at a resort spa and they used all organic products.
I recently left this job in June to travel in Brazil. I just arrived home from Brazil, and I cannot stop thinking about Maui! I would LOVE to come back. I have learned so much from you, and everyone at Spa Luna. I remember a specific day where you were talking about one’s diet, and how dairy can affect one’s skin. At the time, I didn’t give it a second thought.
When I was in Colorado, i stopped eating dairy, and took calcium supplements. Even back in Minnesota now with the humidity and everything, my skin is FABULOUS! I am so happy. I have learned SO much.
Well, Thank you for everything! I hope to talk to you soon!!!!!!
Mahalo
Sincerely,
Laura McLuen
Hi Samana!
I just thought I would drop you a line to let you know that I made Kicharee! It is excellent! I love working at the spa and I have been practicing facials, microdermabrasion and waxing while I wait for my temporary license. I just sent my paperwork off today.
Facial acupuncture is booming here! I can’t go a day without hearing about it. I am so in love with this medicine. I’m still doing a little makeup here and there too. And yoga. Back to my practice. The only thing left out is dancing. That’s taken a hiatus for awhile.
I hope that everything is going well for you. I think about you often and I incorporate a lot of the little gems that you taught me in my practice.
Miss you much,
Marianne Chalmers
Aloha Samana,
It has been ages since I have written, but I have been meaning to do so for a long time. I miss you and Spa Luna, and I want you to know that I think of all of you ladies all of the time. I am back on Kauai with Oliver, and we are now engaged and plan to marry in June of next year.
I have been managing the Spa at the Hilton here on Island since March of this year, and am also the principle esthetician there. Managing is tough, but being an esthetician is so rewarding and so wonderful! I cannot tell you how many times I hear from my clients that their facial was the best they have ever had, and that it was “more than a facial”… a healing experience. I rave to everyone about Spa Luna, and many of my clients ask me where I was trained. Spa Luna sets you apart from other therapists, and it all stems from intention.
I am so thankful that my path led me to Haiku and Spa Luna, I miss that experience!! I wish that I would have done the longer course so that it wouldn’t have been over so quickly! A few of my receptionists girls are interested in attending your school, as well as girlfriends of some of my male therapists.
Can you send me some pamphlets and info so that I can pass it on? I love you ladies so much, and you will always hold a special place in my heart, my journey at spa Luna not only molded my abilities as an esthetician, but also as a human.
Much love,
Leah Mason
Hi Samana,
It’s been a good 3 months since I’ve been back in Minnesota. I need to tell you as I’m a firm believer in credit should be given where credit is due. I of course have room for more clients in my practice, but it’s going quite well. What I need to share with you is some of the comments from my clients that I hear most nearly every time I give a massage.
I’ve had massages all over the world – and this is probably the best one I’ve ever had.
I have had many massages from many different people and this one is one of the best.
Boy, you know how to give a massage!! And so on- but how long were you in Maui? Boy were you paying attention! That was the greatest one ever!
My point is Samana you have put together a wonderful package of teachers and support people to help make us turn out to be great massage therapists. We could not be getting these wonderful comments on a regular basis without all of your wonderful team working together to get us going in the right direction.
Thanks again for the wonderful education.

Hello!
I hope you receive this in good health and happiness! I just wanted to thank all the instructors and office staff for having made such a positive experience out of my massage therapy training! Also, thank you for doing such a good job at it. The classes were thorough and well planned. The instructors were very inspirational and committed to the learning process for all of us.
I wanted to let you know that I took the NCBTMB test today for national certification and passed! I know it has been awhile since I graduated, but that just goes to show what a good program Spa Luna has!
I miss you all and wish you all love and happiness in your future.
Thank you again,
Sheri Penning
